HomeNewsPoliticsPolitics Man with EU citizenship confronts Theresa May at posh summer party saying 'I'm about to get deported'

A man with EU citizenship has confronted Theresa May at a posh summer party saying: "I'm about to get deported".
Journalist Nimrod Kamer, 35, sought out the Prime Minister after blagging his way into last night's exclusive bash hosted by the Spectator magazine.
Holding a glass of champagne, the joint Romanian and Israeli passport holder filmed himself voicing his fears about Mrs May's offer to let 3.2million EU citizens stay in Britain.
Her plan to give people special status after they've been in Britain for five years would see people fingerprinted to get ID documents. EU chiefs have branded it a "damp squib".
British GQ art columnist Mr Kamer, who has lived in Britain since 2011, told her: "I'm a Romanian passport holder. I'm about to get deported."
Theresa May grinned and grimaced as she greeted guests at the Spectator party

She swiftly replied: "No you're not!" - but he continued: "It's not the same as what the EU originally offered."
The Prime Minister continued: "It's very similar. The key difference is the European Court of Justice."
When the journalist told her he was still worried, Spectator editor Fraser Nelson leaned in and said: "It will be fine."
Mr Kamer told the Mirror he managed to "blag my way in" to the party in Westminster, which was packed with Cabinet ministers and top broadcasters.

But that didn't stop the siblings chumming up together at the party
Asked if he felt reassured by Mrs May's words, he said: "No because 'no deal' is still an option."
But he added: "I'm proud to live in a country where anyone can walk in and speak to the Prime Minister and be polite and have a chat, even if they're not invited to the party."
Mr Kamer has previously confronted other public figures including Nigel Farage and Rupert Murdoch.

Last night's party was packed with the elite of Westminster, with Boris Johnson and his sister Rachel chumming up despite her supporting the Lib Dems.
Brexit Secretary David Davis was also spotted greeting Ms Johnson with a kiss while Mrs May laughed alongside her chief of staff Gavin Barwell.
Political broadcasters Kay Burley, Andrew Neil and Andrew Marr were among others at the champagne-soaked bash.
