Former New Zealand international Bryson Goodwin will link up with Leigh next season on a two-year deal.
Goodwin, who was an ever-present and scored four tries as the Kiwis reached the 2013 World Cup final, will move to the Super League after more than a decade in the NRL.
The Australian-born outside back began his career with Cronulla before moving to Canterbury and has been at South Sydney for the last four years.
Leigh head coach Neil Jukes said: "I have followed Bryson's career over past years and he has been one of the most consistent performers for his team.
"He has shown that again this year and as he can play full-back, centre or wing he also has great versatility.
"When I spoke to Bryson over the phone I could immediately tell that he has the appetite to achieve things over here and he is a good fit for us, just as we are for him."
The 31-year-old revealed former Sharks team-mate and now Leigh full-back Mitch Brown was a big influence in his decision to switch to the Centurions.
Goodwin said: "The club is on the way up and I look forward to being part of their journey.
"I have a close friend already playing with the club, Mitch Brown, and he only has positive things to say about the club."
